    Post "system memory dangerously low" message

    I did a search on this but didn't see a
    similar issue.

    AMD k63-450, 20 gig ide, 192 mb ram,
    DFI mobo, 16 mb AGP 3DFX Banshee video, Win98SE. HD is partitioned:
    C:= 3 GIG, D:=17 GIG... Fat 32.

    This system has run PERFECTLY for 3 months;
    nothing added except new Epson printer.

    I just reformatted the C partitiion and reloaded 98se. The ONLY other things installed are: mobo drivers, video driver,
    printer driver, MS Publisher 98.
    No modem, sound card, or A-V software.
    I have a 384 mb swapfile on the D drive; it's
    also set as "network server"; there is NOTHING in startup (including Systray); after
    booting I'm showing 94% resources and all looks great.

    When I try to print in MS Publisher I get that message, then I close the app ..go back to the desktop. Now none of the icons work;
    can't open My Computer, Recycle Bin, nothing.
    I'm not locked up, just locked out.
    I don't think it's the new printer driver because I printed 70 pages fine last week.
    Any ideas?

    I would delete the printer (and remove files) then reinstall it. try to reinstall display adapter drivers.
    remove MS pblisher and reinstall..

    Agreed but I would also put systray back into startup.
    I can win any argument with any computer made yet. Since they really haven't learned to fight back.

    agreed with systray. reinstate it in msconfig and play with the swap file size. let windows manage it and reboot. see if the problem continues. let us know.
    "What does it all mean, Dr. Holmes?"
    "Ahh, I can not tell. I have no data."

    "Psssst...hey you...don't tell anyone i told you, but
