Angry Miro PCTV & DirectX problem.

I'm dealing with a strange problem:
I'm trying to put a TV-Tuner card on a Celeron 366 based system. It has V550 AGP, S.B. 64V PCI, 64MB SDRAM pc100 and a Hitachi 2500BX DVD. The TV-Tuner is a Studio Pctv made by Pinnacle Systems. It's the newer version of MIRO PCTV. The problem is MS DirectX 6.X. It can't work without it. As far as I know, V550 is supported by MIRO PCTV. Same thing for SB 64V PCI. When I try to install the software, it fails due to DirectX 6.X, giving a failure message.

    Any ideas?

what motherboard is the system running???

The BT848x TV Tuner chipset has a few incompatiability probs with certain chipsets. I had similar probs with a Hauppage yesterday until I changed the Mobo.

    Thanks for your interest Darren.
The motherboard is a Soyo SY-6BE+. If I remember correct, the chipset is made by ETEC. What do you suggest?
    Thanks once again.

I wasn't correct about the chipset.
    It's Intel 440BX.
    Thanks

download & install Direct X 7. I noticed you said that it needs Direct x 6 or higher and bombs when looking for it. That looks to be the problem.

    Lightbulb

I formatted the drive and setuped the drivers one-by-one. It's okay now.
