    Exclamation Melt Down

I was wondering if anyone here has seen this.

We built 5 systems for an insurance agency, about ten months ago. About two months ago one of these systems blew a power supply, which took everything with it, except the RAM, CPU, and Floppy drive. We sorta blew it off as weird things happen, and RMAed the parts back to the vendor.

Then this week two more of the machines did exactly the same thing. These machines had visible damage to chips on various parts, including hard drives.

A first I though the problem was electrical, at their site, but the last computer was in another office 20 miles away. So now I believe it is the power supplies. We had sold a couple dozen of this model, but so far the only computers that have done this belong to the insurance company.

These cases had Deer power supplies, and after seaching around a little today I found this reference to similar problems-- http://enlightcorp.com/wwwboard/messages/1317.html

I was wondering if any of you have seen anything like this, because the parts in these computers came from various vendors, and the vendors may not take the parts back with the visible damage. It would be nice if I could recoup some from the vendor that sold me the cases, or from Deer, but I'll probably just have to eat it. <IMG SRC="smilies/frown.gif" border="0">

We haven't sold any cases with these power supplies in several months, and I'm trying to decide whether to recall the rest of the ones with potential problems.

Sorry for the long post, please help if you can. Thanks!

I would say that its just a coincidence, I have been using Deer PSU's for a while now and I have not had a single problem.

Did you get the psu's from the same place? If so then it may have been a bad batch or something
