[RESOLVED] Game running slow with DVD player

I have a customers that has the game called The Sims. They curtainly have one of the older type of DVD players on there machine. All the other games run fine with it exapt this one. I have looked for updates on the website for the DVD and the game. I believe the DVD players is something Star. Not a very popular brand. IF anybody has an HP Pavlion then its probably the same kind. Any ideas guys thanks for your time.

a 1x dvd is equal to a 12 x cdrom 2=24 and so forth.
if they have an old dvd running at 1x or 2x
no driver is going to help, it's just a slow drive.
also consider dust build up on the laser
and it just getting old.
