Sometimes the most difficult problems have the most obvious solutions - they just get overlooked.

Try DSLReports.com - the advantage is this is probably the most popular site and has comparitive benchmarks for you to look at.

I have not found a good one. They all tell me a am dowloading around 900kbps but when I download anything it is usually between 1.5 and 2mb. I used to get all bent out of shape cause I am on cable but like I said I hit a good download site and it just screams.

Testmyspeed.com and toast.net have been the most accurate for me. Of course your speed will be determined by Browser, site server location, internet traffic. Something to keep in mind. A t-3 will only download as fast as the other side is capable of uploading.

Speed tests are inaccurate. Try downloading a large file, like Quake3 (45MB) or W2KSP2 (101MB) and see what kind of speed you get.

I just tried this site and my Sympatico high speed is 21 times faster than a 56k Modem.

I think that CNet has a good download speed measuring system. Haven't used it more than once though...but it was pretty good when I did.

The Cnet one sucks. It has me running at half the speed. Like in my previous post, those places give speeds that are close to the speeds I get downloading larger files.
