The onmly way I have found out of this is to attack the keyboard with a screw driver and open it up. You can then cut the connection from the key to the rest of the keys. Maybe not the answer your looking for but a good alternative.

Try and find an old 101 keyboard without the windows key. Nice and easy to install and you dont have to screw around with the registry.
