How much to charge for Custom Network Cable
I am doing some networking for a client. This is my first time where I have to make custom cable to sell. How much is reasonable? Town of about 20,000 people.
Thank you for your suggestions!
I was here, here I was, was I here? I hope I was....

How long a cable? If it's not much off of your supplies, etc., I'd charge around $10 or so.

If I remember correctly, the shop I used to work for charged $.10 a foot plus $3 a piece for the ends.
The shop was in a town about the same size as yours.

I'm big-city folk here, but I charge $0.10 a foot and $5.00 labor per cable, includes wiring, ends, boots, and quick look on the tester. This is totally separate from any trip fees or labor time for the job.

... i'd say:
5-100ft : 0.15 USD$ per foot
101-500ft: 0.10 USD$ per foot
501-1000+ ft:0.07 USD$ per foot
labor: 0.03-0.07 USD$ per foot
testing: + 0.02 USD$ per foot...
thats about right....
ends: rj45 ends cost a bit.. i'd say something like 0.75 USD$ for the ends...
what if microsoft inserted code in their operating system that would disable an OS if it recieved a signal over the net from microsoft?....

usually u run multiple cables for a persons network project, not just one, most people usual buy at least 3 50ft cables or something like that, right? thats why, the more they buy from you, the more discount... like maybe someone would want to buy 10 100ft cables from you... that would qualify as 1k ft.
