Post Tricks for large HDs and old MBs

What kind of utility/etc. could I use for getting a larger HD on an older MB? I just found a P90 machine at work and they donated it to my cause. I want to put NT4 server on it, but it came w/a 500 MB HD. Enough, but I want a larger HD to werk on it. Is there some kind of an Soft-Bios program or something? Any help would be appreciated. I haven't looked at the manufacturer of the MB, and it' a white box. ;-)

Usually all Pentium MoBos (even old)supports large HDDs in LBA mode. Check BIOS for this mode. Even old BIOS can support hard drives up to 8 GB without problem. If You need more,You have to upgrade BIOS (if it possible).

As for utilites, try something like EZ Drive
utility. You can find this util on Your HDD' manufacturer site.

    Thumbs up

Western Digital and Seagate have a downloadable program you can put on a floppy to trick the mobo into reading the whole bannana. You can get it at their websites. WD's is called Lifeguard and Sgate's is called Seatools. Both will clean your hd's clock and you will have to start fresh. HEY, it's the price we pay...Good luck.
