Wink Mustek 600 III EP Plus and Win 2K

Ok, here's the problem. After upgrading to Windows 2000, my scanner no longer works. I've tried using the drivers from Mustek with no luck yet. I'm running a Pentium 233 MMX with 64 MB Ram. It's supposed to be a plug & play device. I can't get Windows to recognize it though. It's plugged into my printer port (ECP), and my printer is plugged into the scanner. I can print with no difficulties, so that eliminates an interface problem. I've tried all the solutions I can think of, but I'm not getting anywhere. I've enabled legacy plug and play devices through the ECP printing port. The port is set to EPP+ECP in my BIOS. If you can think of anything else, let me know. Thanks.

I just took a quick look at Mustek's web site and found the following:

    Windows 2000 Driver Installation Note

NOTE: Installation of this driver requires that you log in as Administrator. Please restart your computer and log in as Administrator, using a capital 'A', prior to installing this driver.
    .

Could this perhaps solve your problem?

Thanks for the suggestion, but as this is my home machine, I'm always the admin <IMG SRC="smilies/wink.gif" border="0"> Anyways, I fixed it by re-installing the software that came with it. I didn't think that re-installing the PhotoShop type programs would help when device manager couldn't see the scanner itself, but oh well. I suppose you can delete this thread now if you like. Thanks

You're welcome. I think it's best to just close the topic and leave it so your solution can be here to help someone else with the same scanner.
