Post cdr doesn't work

I have just upgraded to windows xp but this has caused problems with my cdrw drive. I am unable to record anything onto cd. I have contacted microsoft support and they said to get the latest drivers from the manufacturer of the drive (LG).The response i got from LG was to contact the manufacturer of my system (hp) as it was oem or something. The only problem is that the cd drive is used in my newer system now. Does anyone know of anything I can do to get burning again?
    Thanks. Mark

hi mate , winxp or any other win system dosnt need drivers for the cd-r , but it does need a prog to make it work.
what writing prog were u given with the recorder?

there have been a lot of comments regarding Roxia ezicd-creator , if u look around you will see that there are patches and an order to instal them.

it is always wise at an early stage not to have to many different progs loaded at one time,

if you have not recieved s/ware or it is not working may i suggest NERO , you can get an evaluation copy (28days ithink) from http://www.nero.com also there is another prog I recomend CLONECD you can get this from www.elby.com ,,,,,in demo mode this only works at either 1 or 2 speed ,,,,,this is simple and quick (when regestered)

good luck ,,,any probs email me i,ll try to help

Hi mate, thanks for the reply. My drive came with adaptec easy cd creator but they and there website have been less than helpfull. I have tried loads of different programmes to get it working including the ones you mention but none seem to recognise it properly. For example, the windows media player now has the abbility to copy music to a cd.After inserting the blank cd the display does not change, where it says to insert a black cd.This is pretty much what happens with all the programmes i have tried. I may just invest in a new one and put this one back in my old system. Thanks again for you're reply. Mark

I'm just looking at one of them pioneer slot in drives over at ccl computers. Have heard good things about them, they look good, and cost £60. Will let u know how it goes with the patch. Thanks mate. I'd go crazy if it wasn't for helpful people like you. Mark
