Stars, rank, posts,whatever
Maybe Scott can set up a spot at the top of the Forums board. what the stars mean, and how many posts you need to get a different status. So that the topic doesn't come up any more. And that way people like me can stop getting posts for stupid replies.
I hope that someday we will be able to put away our fears and prejudices and just laugh at people.

Sorry BIG Q.
But I already know about how the stars and rank and posts go.
I was suggesting that it be a permanant piece of the forums maybe beside Windrivers at the top. Just to prevent other posts about this topic.
I hope that someday we will be able to put away our fears and prejudices and just laugh at people.

Yeah good idea but how do we make everyone actually read the message...

Here's a thought. What if some mark of rank was affected by fellow forum members. So you could click on a post and score how well you were helped.
It could become a popularity contest but it could become a really cool function. So that you might tell the deep down techs from the post junkie. I'm probably the latter , I know the idea has been rolled around b4 but I'd never seen a method to work it.
Is this worth it's own thread?

Scott..
Dont know if you've rattled anything up yet for explaining the ranks. Looking at the number of ranks there are it occured to me that placing them on the front page might look quite cumbersome.
How about making a gif that rolls them like the credits to a movie? Show 2 or 3 at a time then roll to the next 3.
Just a thought. Cheers.
Matt.
