Red face Problem using two brands of memory chips

I am using 2 X 256 133pci memory chips, but when I try to add the third (another brand but the same 245 133pci) my pc only finds the old ones. If I try to take out one of the old ones and use it with the new I only get 256 mb found. Any solutions ?

Even today (amazing...) you can get the wrong memory even if you do exactly what it says in the manual..
    e.g PC100/133 Unbuffered 3.3v DIMMS of max 256MB.

Unfortunately not all memory modules are created equal - they differ in density, timings, refresh and many other attributes not always covered by the manual.

my advise is go with Brand name RAM that is known to work well with your computer. most brand name companies such as Micron (crucial) Kingston, Simple tech and others will warn you if the Module only works with certain configurations..

Also make sure that your motherboard supports more than 512MB of RAM. Some motherboards, such as Asus CUSL2-C, don't support more than 512MB of RAM.
