Post Air cooling system for Athalon , who/where ??

Anyone have any good notes/tips/home made systems to cool down a Athalon system to about 30°F / 0°C ???

I've been reading that the cooler the chip the more stable and higher performance you can get out if it.

    thanks gang !

Get a Zerus Twin Turbo from www.tigerdirect.com and then check out either www.coolermaster.com or www.thermaltake.com

I got my cooling fan and other things from www.sidewindercomputers.com

    here is one I got

Globalwin, the WBK-38. The WBK-38 is designed for maximum cooling of your Socket A processor. It features the same delta black label used on the FOP38 but a bigger heatsink. Note - the latest WBK38's have been coming with a thermal pad instead of thermal grease.

Do you leak any fluids, do you have any bumps on your rear, do you have any unpleasant odors?
If you answered yes to any of these then you are not qualified to own a new AMD ATHLON XP.
If someone ask you if you are running the all-new fastest AMD ATHLON XP, just turn around and reply "WHY YES, AND ITS CERTIFIED"

To my knowledge it is impossible to achieve 30°F/0°C with an air cooled setup. The reason for this is you cannot achieve temps that are lower than the ambient room temp. If the temp in your PC room was below 30°F, say 20-25°F you could come close. Even then at that temperature you run into problems with condensation. So the best you can hope for are temps. above ambient. Understand?
Now you could go with a water cooling/peltier setup...but that is another story.

Aster hit the nail on the head. If you want to go with a custom peltier/watercooled system (I have one <IMG SRC="smilies/biggrin.gif" border="0"> ) then you can get the temp down to about 45 - 50f in a 77f room. There is no "more stable" when you are well within the manufacturers limits. My 1.4 is no more stable with the super duper cooler than at 120f with a good heatsink / fan. (My 1g Tbird @ 1463 runs @ 122f WITH the super duper cooler, making it a neccesity.)

If you want info on a super duper cooler, let me know, but as Aster already stated, if not set up properly, condensation will be a huge issue.

I dont think that getting the temp down that low would give you a noticeable performance increase....even if it were possible.
    I dont feel tardy...
