    Post overheating????

I have read the posts for how hot does your amd run but need the question ans. is 140f and system 104 too hot? it is a 1.3ghz on an abit kt7 board?? I posted in tech lounge about locking up on the internet but wasn't sure if that is too hot from the posts under how hot.

Here is a rule of thumb:
The IDEAL idle temp is around 35-40°C (84°-95°F for you metrically challenged)

The IDEAL load temp or max temp is around 45°-55°C (108°-131°F)

Is the 140°F you experience reported in your BIOS or do you have a monitoring program? If that is a MAX or load temp, then it is ok. If it is an idle temp then you have some problems. Let me know.

Where did you get your information Aster? I wouldnt mind looking at the specs for some of the other AMDs includeing the one I just installed in my new machine (a 1.2GB TBird). I checked the AMD site briefly but didnt see anything there on standard operating temps.
    I dont feel tardy...

I pulled all my info from AMD's techdocs and what not and my personal experience (I have a house full of AMD). Check this post out for a more detailed look:
