    The processor setting I gave is Auto. I have 1200 (100) and 1200 (133). My understanding is the 266 is double data rate thus U set it to 133 for 266 FSB and 100 for 200 FSB

    Yes the BIOS is set to AUTO on all drives.

    I Have tried a AOPen 24x CDROM and the same problem.

    The real problem may be PS if DieHard is correct on 80Watts for Processor. Even though the PS is 300 Watt, its MAX Output Watts is only 160 watts according to the sticker on the side. I do not how they rate these things. 300 Watt must be a momontary peek watts or something.

    Best I can calculate:
    HDD Max Watts = 15
    CDROM Max Watts = 20
    CPU Max Watts = 80
    Total = 115 Watts

    This does not count video card or sound card.

    Does anyone have a guess at what the Hercules 3D Prophet II MX 64MB card will require in watts.

    It seems my attempt to add this reply blowup so I am going to try again.

    I have been able to get the system to work if I place both HDD and CDROM on same cable. Does not matter which drive is master, does not matter which cable or which IDE controller. All combinations work fine.

    Any Ideals?

    Here is a weird but true bit of info,,,power supplies must pass the AMD certification,else random crashes and lock ups will occur,

    SO not only is the amount of watts important BUt that the Supply has meet AMD standards.Most of us may say that is B/S,,But when you deal in power supplies it is a fact.

    Just look at the Amd site and look at the approved supplies you, will notice that thay HAVE BEEN TRULY Approved by AMD.
