remarked amd cpu
I recently purchased an AMD K6-2 450Mhz , but for some reason could not get it to run stably at that speed. When I configured the motherboard to run the CPU at 400 Mhz, everything works without any problems. I suspect that the CPU I bought has been remarked. Does anybody know how to find out for sure? Thanks!

The K6-2 450 runs very hot. I recommend that you insure you have an adequate heatsink installed.

I doubt it is a remarked processor, I have seen many AMD k6-2 450's and K6-3 450's with that problem. It is just a bad CPU. They are having problems with the faster K6's.
