Overclocking My 933MHz?
Hey, I have never overclocked before, and I wanted to toy around with it a little bit. I have a PIII 933 on an ABIT SA6R Motherboard. I just wanted to know how exactly I would go about doing this, even if it were just to jump to 1GHz? Any help would be appreciated, thanks.

You have to be very careful since it's the first time you O/C.
I would check here:
www.tomshardware.com www.overclockers.com
Good luck!

The only way to overclock a recent Intel processor is by running the FSB higher than designed, and your FSB is already at 133 MHz; you may not select a higher multiplier, however, with quality memory, it may be possible to increase the FSB, with stability, to as high as 138-143 MHz, but be aware that the memory clock,PCI, and AGP freqs are also proportionately overclocked as well, and some hard drives, and sound/ video/NIC cards do not like out of spec freqs...
In your case, I doubt a 933 will seem slow quite yet, however the SA6 is indeed a quality mainboard with lots of FSB options above 133 MHz. (138 Mhz is usually not dificult to attain...)
