    Post PIII 1 ghz

I have a BookPC with a PIII 1 ghz in it and the proc runs at about 167F. Is that too high for a PIII? Seems a little toasty to me, but I don't really know for sure.

You can check out the thermal characteristics of Intel Cpus on the following link:

According to the article your PIII max's out at 70C (158F) so it looks like it's running a bit hot.
    Anyways, check it out.

Thats a bit toasty if you ask me. I've always used Book PC's with Celerons primarily for the reason that there is very little circulation in those tiny cases.
My brain went into standby mode and I can't get it to wake up, is there a BIOS patch for this?

I kinda thought that a PIII in there would be a problem. The only this is that I really hate Celerons, but I guess that's about the only way to go if you want to use those little guys.

    Thanks alot!!! <IMG SRC="smilies/smile.gif" border="0">

Or rig a better cooling solution. I have an IBM BookPC which uses the power supply fan inside the computer to circulate hot air out but all that does is move hot air into the power supply. I added a fan on the outside of the power supply where the air would eventually exit and that seemed to help things out alot.
