    Talking Overclocking

    I have a Pentium 200 MMX processor with a AMI Megatrends Motherboard 66mhz Bus Speed can I overclock my processor or is this the faster that it will run on this motherboard if it can be overclocked how do i do it.

    I didn't know that AMI made motherboards. are you talking about an AMI bios? I your motherboard is capable of multiplying to 200 it MAY be capable of 233. find out what mobo you have and check the website, or you can look at the mobo and see if the multiplier is clearly marked and go for it.

    OOPS. I guess AMI makes(did make mobos).

    Why would anyone overclock a 200MHz cpu to 233MHz?? The speed gain would probably not be noticable...

    But hey - everyone has to learn I guess

    i usually agree with shawn, but we are talking a 15% increase. i know some people who would kill for a 15% increase. I can't say for sure, but i may know some people who HAVE killed for a 15% increase.

    On my Asus TX board, I had my 200 running somewhere in the neighborhood of 250 to 280, can't remember exactly. Those days were long ago.
