    Question P3 650 or Celeron 800?

I have a slot 1 mobo (asus p2b) and need to buy a chip for it. Right now a p3650 and a celeron 800 are about the same price which one would give me the most bang for the buck? With the celeron I would have to buy a converter, do they affect performance any?

My vote's PIII, although I think an equivalent AMD chip would beat either of them.

P3 is the best. You'll get a fast 133 vs. 66 bus speed with the P3 which will help all components in the computer.

    The celeron 800 and p3 650 are both 100mhz. Plus it's a pc100 board.

I don't know whether the P2B though will support the latest Celerons.

if overclockings an option go with the P3 it leaves more overhead. If overclocking not an option then get an AMD!

I'm goin' with the p3. Thanks you all. Except Darren, who is claiming to get freebies from my woman. But that would explain why she always takes MY video camera when she goes out.

p.s. Where do you Canadians buy your Slot 1
    AMD's?
