Yeah, IRQ's, make sure you know all the main ways to make boot disks in all the versions of Windows (inc NT4 I remember getting that one wrong).
I'm in charge and I say we blow it up

    any pointers?

Memorize the IRQ's as they are a large portion of the test

Odd thing was, I didn't have a single IRQ question. I remember this, because it was the one area I studied my butt off for, and was kinda angry I didn't have it. But, I passed so, I'm not going to complain. Of course, if I hadn't studied it, the test probably would have consisted 50% of IRQ's. They say the test is for people with at least 2 years experience, and that's about right. If you know you're main os' well enough, (Win 98 and Win2k) and remember that there's about a dozen ways to do anything, you should be pretty good on the software portion. The hardware is a bit tricky, as a lot of questions can deal with some VERY extent hardware. Know your history of the processors, and have a good understanding of the major bus types, cards, memory chips, ect...
Also, relax, because I found it was not NEARLY as difficult as I expected. If you have time, memorize the 7 layers of the OSI model, because that might crop up in a place or two.

Wow, several months later and this topic is still on top. Thanks everyone for the words of congrats! Confus-ed, I don't think it expires, but it's always possible. I wouldn't ever put anything beyond them, but I havn't read any expiration dates on any of my documents they gave me once I passed.

    HOWEVER...

When I LEFT that job and moved on, I increased my pay by almost 40k/year LOL. THAT was nice
