    Post Cisco Cert. worth it?

A local college is offering a course for a Cisco cert. My employer sayss that the company will pay for classes if I'd like to go.
I graduated college a year ago, so I'm not looking forward to classes.
Should I bite the bullet, take the course, and get my cert., or is it a waste of my prescious time?

Take the class if someone else will pay for it. more certs means more $$$ at your next place of employment.

I live near a community college that ofers the cisco classes. i took the first two, yes they are worth it. they teach you everything about networking then teach you how to use the routers in the second class. the class is worth it of course if the class has really stupid people in it, it might not be worth it, the class is only as good as the students and the instructor. try to find someone that has already taken that class that is at your computer knowledge level.

If your company will pay for any cert. course, you should take it. And for the cisco course, my dad is in it and it seems to be a great course, but to expensive for me.

You're actually considering turning down a free offer to get Cisco Certified?

I'd give my left arm to get Cisco Certified for free.

Cisco isn't really something you can just book study on a whim. How many people have a 2501 router sitting around they can play with? Cisco courses for CCNA cost 3 grand easy. CCNP is more like 7 grand.

Don't be a dope, take advantage of the opportunity. If not, give your boss my email and I'll be happy to go in your place.
