Yes it's worth it, more than probably any other cert.

It is around here. Its a great way to "get your foot in the door". I agree with above, its probably one of the better certifications to get.

When I interviewed at AT&T CERF NET
I wish that I had had it. They use it to filter potential employees. Actually I am glad that I didn't go to work for AT&T because I like where I work now. Cisco Certification carries weight especially CCNP and the most coveted of all IT certification the blackbelt of them all the 'CCIE'. Having the Certification won't guarantee you a job but it certainly helps establish credibility among peers and employers.

I would be willing to bet the CCIE alone would guarentee a job. I bet you could make a resume that looks like

*Personal Info*
Certifications
Cisco Certified Internetworking Expert
That's it, and I bet you could get a job for six figures somewhere.
When I interviewed in Raleigh, NC last year, everybody was looking for the CCNA or higher. They were offering 40K job to high school juniors who were enrolled at their high school.
I think he's a good man. I like him. I got nothing against him, but I'm definitely gonna make orphans of his children.

Well it can't hurt but you really need at least a CCNP to be real marketable expecially without loads of experiance. I just got my CCNA and have a bit of experiance behind it and can't find a job either in nashville or atlanta. everyone wants at least CCNP with 5-7 years solid experiance. The job market absolutely sucks out there right now.
