    MCSE or MCSA

    Which certification route should I take?

    The MCSA is newer, so is it as widely accepted?

    MCSA seems more in line with what I would want in a job?

    How about MCSA as a stepping block to MCSE.

    Leaning toward MCSA with the COMP TIA electives.

    I was planning on taking the COMP TIA tests anyway, but they are no longer part of MCSE.

    Please give me your opinions, suggestions or make fun of me at your leisure.

    Personally, i would go with the MCSA as a stepping stone to the MCSE. your basicallly going to take the same exams for each cert. the major difference is going to be 70-218 which counts as a core towards the MCSA and also an elective towards MCSE. even if you take the comptia a+ and N+ or Server+ and count towards the MCSA (which is what I did), then you only have 4 tests to complete for the MCSE. Its a Win-Win situation. I just got my MCSA using the comptia certs, so i only have 4 more tests for the MCSE.
    I think the problem is either an ID10T or PEBCAK error

    MCSA is fine if you plan to administer small to medium MS networks. But to be more fully rounded, I'd suggest some routing training, CCNA to start, and some security training, such as Checkpoint's course. Security is becoming a bigger issue in networks of all sizes.
