    Resolved [RESOLVED] I want to use my CD rom in Dos from Win98 ???

    I still have some good old Dos programs. I want to use them but recently, I bought a new CDrom it',s a Sony CDU701 32X. Someone talked about edit a file called dosstart.bat. I would like to know if you can help me find the appropriate drivers and help for doing this ? Thanks a lot to all responders.

    Use a win98 bootdisc and pull the oakcdrom.sys driver off it and copy it to your root directory. In your config.sys file add the following line

    device=c:\oakcdrom.sys /d:cdrom

    then edit your dostart.bat and add

    c:\windows\command\mscdex.exe /d:cdrom

    If you would like the "official" Sony drivers, download atapi227.exe from
    http://www.sony-cp.com/_E/Support/Download/Drivers.html

    You should run the file in an empty subdirectory and follow the instructions in the text files included.
