CD-ROM drive not work
I'm trying to get my 2X CD-ROM work so as to
reinstall win95 on my old 486DX2-S machine.
But it doesn't work any more.
I formatted my C: drive before I realized I
lost the drivers. The worse thing is I don't
have any document of my machine.So far I've
tried the drivers from the manufacture's web
site(my CD-ROM:Funai,2550UA),and the bootdisk
from www.bootdisk.com site.None of them could
make my cd drive work.
My cd drive was working before I formated C:
drive. The old config.sys and autoexec.bat are:
config.sys
DEVICE=C:\SNDIMAGE\Cdsetup.sys /T:P /P:340 /I:X /D:X
DEVICE=C:\FCDR2C.SYS /D:MSCD0001 /A340
autoexec.bat
SET BLASTER=A220 I5 D1 T4
SET SOUND 16=C:\SNDIMAGE
C:\SNDIMAGE\sndinit /b
C:\WINDOWS\COMMAND\MSCDEX.EXE /D:MSCD0001 /M:20 /V /S
PATH %PATH%;C:\SNDIMAGE
So I guess it must be the cdsetup.sys file
to set the CD-ROM to work. If this is the
case, where can I get the file?
Please help! or email me: [email protected]
Thanx a lot.

it sounds like your drive is a proprietary drive. Most 2x drives where although Aztech did make a few 2x IDE drives.
You will need to download the actual cdrom setup disk/s from http://support.soundblaster.com/file...drom/crccd.exe . You will need to install DOS first hen the drivers from this download.
Good luck
