    Post Formatting with NTFS

    I just installed Windows 2000 and Norton Systemworks 2001 Pro. I was able to format one drive with NTFS, but I can't format the other. Whenever I try to format in NTFS, an error message pops up and states that I have to disable any/all drive utility programs, in order for the process to continue.

    What can I do to get around this problem?

    Try formatting the second drive in safe mode.

    Sounds like a good idea, however, I chose to delete the partition and reformat, while I was waiting for someone to respond. Too bad there isn't some way that you could format and recognize NTFS in DOS mode.

    I think you can, it's convert D: /fs:ntfs from a dos prompt where D is the drive you're trying to convert...<a href="http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/pro/using/itpro/managing/convertfat.asp" target="_blank">HERE</a> is a link.
