Changing Resource Settings!!!

I must be an idiot! I installed an ATI All-In-Wonder_
Pro video card, and now the Video card, the sound card
the NIC are all on IRQ 9, I have the Crappy Asus CUSl2-C
815 chipset MOBO. I tried changing to "Non Plug and play
OS, can't reassign resources. Tried to manually assign
them in PCI config, Still On IRQ 9. I tried to boot into
Safe Mode to see if I could change them there and SUPRISE
all the cards are assigned to different IRQ's!
I reboot to normal mode and ... They are all back on 9!
Am I just stupid or what?

PCI Bus IRQ steering at work! As long as you don't have an IRQ conflict, leave it be (unless, of course, you don't want it enabled).

No it is called ACPI.

If you wish to disable ACPI, change the Computer type in Device Manager to 'Standard PC' for Uni-Processor systems or 'MPS Multiple Processor PC' for SMP systems. Restaart the machine and Windows will take the IRQ resources from those assigned via the BIOS & Hardware itself.

Yep JWW, you are right, mate. Scrolled up and saw that this is the Win2k forum, and not Win95/98 where I was posting earlier.

You may also need to disable the device in bios to get irq 9 back.
