Post HP MyCD performed illegal operation

My cousin recently installed an HP 9150i CD-RW into her HP computer. Well the other day I get a call and she's telling me that her HP MyCD software will not work. I go over to her place and proceed to uninstall, and then reinstall the HP software. Well I still get the same error message that HP MyCD has performed an illegal operation. My question is there anyway to get the HP MyCD software working again without having the system restore cd?

    Thanks in advance.

I have a hp burner of my own, and had some problems with the software too, i found it easier to download a different program (I went with Nero) than to fart around with Hp's.

Sorry i can't help you with fixing the existing one, but it could be any number of things
Never let the facts get in the way of a carefully thought out bad idea!

I found HP customer support to be quite good, give them a try - it can't hurt.
As to your problem, I'd ask if anything was changed within the system, as I've found system properties to be quite imporntant to the operation of these devices.

Just for grins, you might want to take a look at HP's website for your HP CD Writer. You will notice that there is an update for MyCD software dated 02/08/01. Might be worth a shot.

    Good Luck!
