Just my humble opinion---NO NOT EVER!

Sorry for yelling, just had another job from hell this weekend cleaning up after another client thought it would improve her system management--I guess it did if her intent was to disable most of her apps and Windows....

Some people here will tell you speed disk is good and it probably is, but I just can't bear anymore Norton problems...NAV2001 only for my clients.

Go for Zone Alarm ... free from www.zonelabs.com It does a good job of keeping the script kiddies out of your PC. A top hacker could probably beat it, but those guys are too busy trying to crack banks and the Pentagon etc to bother with the like of us.

I emphatically agree, NAV2001 works ok, but all other Norton products: security, utility or performance boosters are invasive, memory intensive, non-configurable, unsupported and very easy to beat (security-wise).

    Question

Non-configurable? Invasive? Screws up systems? I've yet to have a problem with System Works. I would have to belive most problems encountered are the result of user error. Like running clean sweep and telling it to delete everything.

Disk Doctor and Speed Disk are far better than what comes with windows, and Win Doctor has saved dozens of systems from being formated.

And of course, this is all my opinion.

What I tell my clients...Even if System Works worked properly without screwing up your system (especially crashguard), if you were knowledgeable enough to use the tools safely and correctly, you wouldn't need them.

And no, McAfee GuardDog doesn't belong on a system either. If you have a dodgy (that one's for you Darren) system, complicating matters by adding another layer of software probably won't help.
