Arrow Evaluation software: 120 day limit??

Hi
Just wondered what anyone knows about the Win 2000 pro "Evaluation software" version. It says there is a 120 day limit on use.
What happens when the 120 days is up? Is it as simple as reinstalling or can the product only be installed once.
What about installig it on a diff system.
Are all the programs functions available.
Thanks.

You can reinstall but it has to be a clean reinstall.

In your house? Yeah. In a production environment? You shouldn't have to "reboot" once in 3 months. 99.999% downtime is the goal.

If we were talking about Win98, I would reinstall every 3 months LOL ... but Win2K is a stable beast. My current install has been going strong for about a year now

Depends. Personally, It takes me two or three working days to completely reinstall everything on my work computer from scratch, but that's because I have so many applications. Plus you have to figure in time for preferences, ect.... I try to reinstall as little as possible, but sometimes the need arises. Now look at this. I'm currently playing around with a 120 day trial of Win 2k Advanced Server. Would you really like to completely reinstall that one every 120 days???

Sometimes you can get away with a 3 month trial, but for most, it's definatly not worth it. Especially when you're looking at the Business aspects where time is money. If everyone in my company had 120 day trials, we would have to have a 5 man crew to do nothing but reinstalls everyday.

As far as the "anti-piracy" swing this thread is taking; with the evaluation version, it is possible to simply reset the clock on the PC to reflect a date within the original 120 days. This is not piracy; this is by design. MS could easily write code to prevent this work around, but has not yet done it. Says to me that they are OK with it...

My Eval copy would just give me a message at start up that the eval period was up. After that it would continue working per usual. If you set your clock back the message wouldn't pop up.
