I'm running Win2k Pro, SP1, IE 5.5 SP1. I had a problem with IE, so I ran the IE repair function. After rebooting, I get a blank desktop. Right-clicking the desktop and clicking refresh, brings it all back. What I'd like is for my desktop to load normally, as it did before.

I've tried tweaking the Active Desktop settings, no help. I reverted to the previous version of IE and reinstalled, no help. I noticed that the desktop folder, which I store in d:/system files/desktop, was flagged as read only. Using TweakUI, I changed the folder to a temp in Documents and Settings. Rebooted and the desktop appeared normally. So then, I deleted the d:/system files/desktop and recreated it, moved all my files into it and the desktop went back to not showing on startup.

Any ideas would be appreciated.

Thanks.

John
