WEB HOSTING WITH 2000

Thanks for your time if your reading this heres the situation....

Windows 2000 Server connected to the internet with a legal 24x7 ip address...

i know how to get virtual webs to work, i have 2 domain web pages i am hosting

now i need to know how to make virtual ftp sites so each webmaster can update there changes.

so bascailly if userA logins in via ftp i want him to have a home dir of
c:\inetpub\wwwroot\domainAwebpage
if userB logs in via ftp i want him to have a home dir of:
c:\inetpub\wwwroot\domainBwebpage

can this be done with a single ip address? if so how, any help would be appreciated

What if you have seperate logins for each admin with their own corresponding home directory being that of the root of their respective web site? I don't know if that would work as I've never done it before but I'll try it when I get home

In Internet Service Manager, open the FTP Service Properties.
Select Directories.
Select the directory that will be the home directory for the FTP service.
Click Edit Properties.
Enable the Home Directory button, then click OK. Click Apply, then click OK.

Getting ready to do something similiar myself. First is setting directory permissions so admins can't get to other admins pages. Next I believe you would set their home directory in their user profile in user manager set to the folder they are going to be ftp'ing to.

then redierct the home directory of the webpages to those folders

I found this easy..

1) create a user name the same as the folder name you have for them. in the profile, add them to the proper groups and set their profile to lead to their directory

2) in iis ftp setup a virtual directory to that folder with read / write

3) go to the folder and give admin, the user full control and I_user to read, etc..

last note.. if you install the frontpage extensions and if you use active directory (which you really should), AD will automatically create the groups for each web
