Resolved [RESOLVED] Help I need a registry guru!

    Hi!

I've heard that you can just run a .reg file from the desktop to change the network settings.

I have a laptop which I use on my LAN at home and my corporate domain. I've tried to make one .reg file for home and another one for my work without success.

My OS is Windows 2000 advanced server and I'm having a static IP at both locations. There are also workgroups at both places as well.

    plz, help!

I would do a search in the networking forum, this topic was covered a while ago and someone replied near the end with which registry data you change, or you could do a search in your registry of your current IP address and you would find what data needs to be changed, from there you can export that data an import later.

Just a thought: Couldn't you do this with hardware profiles? Have one profile for work and another for home...?

Thanks for the tip but that thread was about win98, I'm using win2000.
Here is a link BTW http://forums.windrivers.com/cgi-bin...&f=35&t=000012

I use HW profiles right now. The thing is that some people at my work have some special needs for this "tweak" and I love to use it as well!

    Thumbs up

Now I got a solution that works fine

I use the NETSH command which is included i Windows 2000.
This is how I did it:

    In the command prompt:
    netsh
    netsh>int
    netsh>ip
    netsh>dump
now dump the text to a file
then I created a batch file that runs the file with the netsh -f <path to file> command.

    Real neat
