[RESOLVED] Why is ie ridiculously slow in w2k?
All versions of internet explorer run very slow on my system. It takes a very long time for ie to establish contact with the web address but then it runs fine. This happens for all web pages that i go to. Netscape runs fine as well as all other internet based programs on my system. Are there any known issues with ie and windows2000?

I use IE 5.5 and Win2000 at home. It works fine.
As far as I know, there isn't any known issue, but just to be sure, check on Microsoft's Tech Support.

When I use IE on 2000 it seems to be twice as fast.
Maybe hardware? 2000 is a mafor resource hog. My home pc is quite zippy but the ones here at work running with old hardware are pathetic and slow to the point of me getting into the box and pushing the electrons through the processor.

Make sure you have all service packs and updates. Mine was slow at first, but after I went to http://windowsupdate.microsoft.com everything was much better. Anytime something is screwy chances are there's an update for it. Make sure any proxy settings are correct as well.

I had the same problem, and then I downloaded the fix for win2k that is supposed to fix poor perforance of DirectX on win2k. Though it did speed up DirectX, it also gave IE a nice kick in the pants.
