Red face Windows N$ 4.0 and Plotter

I have a user who is trying to print to a plotter from windows NT the plotter is shared out from a desktop. He can mapp to it from Windows 98 with no problem , but when he goes to widows NT and mapps the plotter it was to connect to the LPT port on his machine and can't seem to change it.

In NT and W2K try the Net Use command. From a command prompt, type:

    net use /?

for syntax. You can map an LPT port to a network print queue or printer, etc. This is a most useful command if you are having to run DOS applications, such as Accpac, etc. You can set up bat files or cmd files to toggle the mapping on and off.

You might also try playing around with the printer properties. Try the add port settings.

    Hope this helps.
