    Post How do I delete a corrupted file in Win2k

    got a corrupt user.ini file for my ftp server and i can't delete it to replace it with a back up

    can't copy over it either how do i get rid of this thing?

    Are you using IIS's version of FTP server? If so, you should be able to log on as another user with administrative priveledges and do the swap. If that doesn't work, let me know. The W2KRK contains a tool that will switch in use files.

    No I'm using a third party FTP server called G6 and the user.ini is corrupt and I need to replace it befor more people get mad at me.

    You will have to stop the service, and then take ownership of the file. Then you should be able to delete it.
