[RESOLVED] mail server win2k server routing
Im running win2k server. I only have 1 IP. I have a couple of machines running in a private network behind a webserver. I have setup a dedicated mail server but I can't seem to get port forwarding or routing to work correctly.
Could someone please explain how I would get my public IP to route to a LAN IP for ports 25 and 110?
Thanx in advance.

Have you had your ISP set-up the MX record for your server? Try a ping to mail.yourdomain.*** and check if it resolves.

I just didnt have the routing setup correctly, port forwarding etc..
It is working but I have a feeling all requests to either my mail server or the webserver are rattling around on my network before they actually hit where they are supposed to go..
Im doing this just to learn so im not worried if it doesnt work (properly) hehe.
Also.. I run my own dns with zonedit.com so.. thats all taken care of.

A simple 'route print' from the cmd prompt will tell you what's happening too.
