    Question Restoring from tape to Novell 3.12

    I am trying to restore all the data files on a 3.12 server. The work station using the backup tape is running Win98se and using the Win98 backup feature. I have been successful backing up the server but when I try to restore (using replace), the server will start creating errors and just stop functioning. At this point, I have to do a vrepair. The server is using a Raid system (IDE) with mirroring.
    What am I doing wrong?

    Try restoring the tape to a local hard disk instead, and then copy all the files and tree to the server.

    You might want to run a DSREPAIR on the server as well, while you're at it.
