k-7 and athon 800 crash on ME instalation

When I try to install win ME on my mother board asus k7m and cpu athon 800mhz the windows me crashies on the last restart. when I install win 98 everthing is normal.

Is ME a clean install or upgrade? Personally I'd go to 2k pro. Me isn't much better than any of the other 9x architecture OS.

Next step would be to check for bios updates.

Make sure the chipset drivers are updated to the latest version.

Also I prefer ME and can tell you drivers are the most common solution for strange os crashes on ME.Go to each card manufacture and download there drivers for win Me,Ie vid card sound card.

Good luck and By the way the system restore is worth its weight in gold,That feature makes me the best 9x platform I have ever run.
