    Post Compaq Armada 1750 laptop

I have never worked on a compaq laptop and have a few questions.
    1. Can i use a y connector on the ps2 for a keyboard and mouse?
    2. I have a utility on disk that i presume is for the bios. is there anyway to enter the bios manually, like on normal computers?

    Any help gratefullt recieved.

As far as I know, no you can't. Hoever, on my Armada 7800, I have one PS/2 port for either a mouse or keyboard and a USB port for either a mouse or a keyboard. You other option is to get a docking station, which would have both a keyboard and a mouse port, plus USB ports.

    I found this at compaq's website:http://www.compaq.com/products/notebooks/arm1700/arm17_f.html

It appears that you have the same layout as I do. So the best thing to do is get a USB mouse and a regular PS/2 keyboard. Or you could get a USB keyboard and a PS/2 Mouse. Eeither way I "Y" connector will not work.

Serial mouse. Cheaper than USB and works with out jumping through hoops and loading drivers.

Also, to enter the BIOS should be F10.
