Unhappy motorola 8088 with Toshiba SP4280

I cant get motorola 8088 to work on Toshiba notebook. I managed to load in the software but get disconnected after a few seconds. When I reboot, all settings previously installed is gone or screwed up. Anyone able to help?

    Hi,

Toshiba's website for downloads for your particular model number are located here:

    http://www.csd.toshiba.com/cgi-bin/t...&CheckPage=Tec hnical

Click on Portables/Satellite Pro...then your model number...then click on Downloads. It has BIOS updates, etc. I was able to find out that it came with a 56K V.90 integrated modem. Do you still have that or did you replace it with something else?

If you still have problems, let us know.

    Good Luck!

Yes I have tried the bios upgrade but still cant work. My model is without the internal modem. Using the 8088 has more mobility. Any other ideas? Motorola website offers no help at all

I tried using an older handphone startec model. It works fine. So what gives? Is there a compatibility problem?
