Red face Hewlett Packard Pavilion N3150

Hi ... I just installed Win2K Pro on my laptop, but I can't find the correct driver for the Video Controler to set the resolution correctly. I can't remember where I placed the drivers cd for the darng thing. I have visited HP's Driver site with no luck. It claims my laptop has some strange name manufacture for the video, that I can't find the name for it. Something like LynxE.

    Thankx in advance. <IMG SRC="smilies/tongue.gif" border="0">

You say you've been to HP's website for your Pavilion.

There are BIOS upgrades for Win2000...have you already installed those?

Go here for HP Pavilion Notebook PC - Display Resolutions and Settings. At the bottom, it does mention your LynxE.

Go here for HP Pavilion PCs - Upgrading from Windows 98 to Windows 2000. Lots of good info there...

Let us know how it goes...Good Luck!

Thankx Don ... but the HP website is really useless, unless you have a brand new product of theirs. I finally found the correct driver. The controler is by SMI "Silicon Motion, Inc." For some reason, SMI is not a driver Win2K has for Video Adapters. In case anyone else has the same problem in the future, here is the web site you need to go to. Please make sure you know what you are doing before installing it, I am NOT responsible!!! http://www.siliconmotion.com/eng/pageHub.html?band=highband&url=accept.html&title=S up port

    Keeping my ole stuff working...............

    Hi IridiumX2,
It is now 5 years later and of course the website is gone. I still have a N3150 and am looking for the video adapter drivers.............still. I had hope..........maybe all is not lost, again. Any new information you can add to this to help locate these SiliconMotion drivers.
