[RESOLVED] ME dials the internet on its own
When windows me starts the dial up networking connection tries to connect. I cant find dhcp-on on the winme cd. I have fixed this before but cant remember how. Please can someone help me

Do you have an antivirus program installed. I see alot of these trying to log on to update themselves.

Two of the most common culprits for this sort of thing are MSN Messenger [if you use it, or it's allowed to run in the background], and Windows ME automatic updates.
If Messenger is the culprit go into Messenger/tools/options/preferences, and uncheck the "run this program when windows starts" box.
If it's the auto update, go to control panel/automatic updates, and turn it off.

Hi I cant remember in best mode but press on right of mouse and enter the proprites of your conneton (default one) then in 3rd or 4 th tab there is a dialiing settings and disconnect settings this one is there.!!!!!

The easiest way to keep the computer from dialing automatically, is to uncheck the "Connect Automatically" box. Also if ICS is running on your machine that may be causing the problem.
