    Unhappy 2 minor problems with Win/me

    1 the problem i was having is now a bigger problem, B/S/O/D every time i start this machine. Use system restore!
    2. Won't let me remove Win/me!
    so I can re-install 98se or Win/2k pro.
    How do I get this Damn program off this
    computer? FDisk don't work, Format don't work,I tried deltree don't work, ?????
    Any Ideas ?????

    FDISK or FORMAT should get rid of it Jim, if you used a BootDisk.

    I second Darren. ME is very fanatic, it accepts its own bootdisk.

    Tried it with a boot disk Oh Master got BSOD!
    Windows protection error bla bla bla........

    I think I got it pull out the HHD and Put in a new one!

    How can u get a BSOD from a DOS prompt?????

    Last thing I knew was that FDISK will only work properly in a DOS environment????

    Dos prompt This thing is so unstable When you Put the floppy in click A drive boom BSOD or system shuts down! I have to go to one of my other computers! And I'll try again I just thought if I swaped HHD's
    I got like 6 new maxtors here at home pulled the Western Digital and tossed it, I would be quicker.
    Forgot last time I got to a dos prompt and started Fdisk i got a error of file missing.

    I would recomend going with a bigfoot drive, it should solve all of your problems.

    Okay swaped HHD's to a Maxtor 40gb 7200 rpm. Problem gone!

    Kenteth- I would never defile One of my computers with a Bigfoot! Only had the POS Western Digital because it came with it!

    as a windowsME user who has removed it before.

    use a millenium bootdisk to boot to pure DOS and you know what to do after that, I am sure.

    use a win98 start-up disk i use them anyway all the time even when I do a Millenium install because they do the dos stuff, never had any problem so far...

    Agreed, and Fdisk should never be run from a DOS shell within Windows....
