win. me o.s.,all works fine untill I install
the Norton Anti-virus package that comes with
the motherboard, then the computer does not
shut down ,just a blanc screen, if I remove
the anti-virus ,everything goes back to normal.

    Cool

Check online with Norton about the Ver release of Norton 20000. I belive this is the latest release with the boards we use . Also PC-cillin 2000 works well with Me. I have installed it on Me with no problems from MB CD.

Yes, Norton 2000 needs to be updated to work (properly) with ME, just run the LiveUpdate and see if that helps...
    ...I don't get it...

I had this problem with Norton Antivirus. Just double-click AutoProtect in your system tray, go to Options > Autoprotect > Advanced, and uncheck "check floppies for virus on shutdown".

    This fixed my problem immediately!
