Are you trying to burna disc full of MP3's, or are you trying to make a standard audio CD? If the latter, you should convert all your MP3's to WAV format before you burn.
And what burning software are you using?

It will help to know more about your computer, the CD-R/RW drive model and manufacturer and the program you are using to burn the discs.
Most problems I have encountered with burning is almost always the setup of the system, drive or writing program.

I have the same exact problem, but it happens in Easy CD Creator with a few MP3s...
If it's only registering as a 4 second song, convert that song only to WAV format, no need to convert the others. This is just something that happens, because, maybe someone used a crappy encoder. Easy CD has a hard time with Mp3 files...
if you are using Nero then that is another story!

Easy CD Creator 4 works fine on MP3s. I've never had a problem with it!
Either convert the MP3s to Wav, or burn at a lower speed.
My 2 cents..

grab a copy of Dart.. It converts to wav on the fly, and you can add the mp3's to a playlist, adjust the sound, the fadein-out, and then just hit record (contains it's own recording sw). Never failed me!
