[RESOLVED] Installing a CD-ROM drive with Windows 3.1
Hi there
I want to install an ATAPI CD-Rom drive in an old machine (486DX) which runs under Windows 3.1. I don't have the information regarding this drive with me, the only thing I konw is that the Code numer is JCC01714766 and that in the outer part of the unit it only says 44max. Can anyone tell me what driver do I need and where to find it?
Thanks

set it up like you would with a bootdisk (in config.sys and autoexec.bat) make sure its running off the mobos ide and not sound card (which 44x it shouldnt be)
files youll need (oakcdom.sys, mscdex.exe) and add them babies in dos 5-6.22 to a cd folder

Go to the mitsumi website and download the driver there for "All Mitsumi CDROMS"
File name is ide-158.exe
