    Question NetMeeting problem???

I can connect to people over the internet via IP address, but no other way...

Question: how can I dial people up besides using the IP address? All users trying to NetMeet are attached to the same server: Microsoft Internet directory.

AOHell (AOL) uses dynamic IP addressing... so it's always changing... big pain.

    Thanks in advance... <img src="confused.gif" border="0">

I thought people needed to register using their email address to use Netmeeting... but I'm not sure. I've only used it very sporadically.

Microsoft used to run their own bunch of Netmeeting servers, mostly jam-packed and unavailable. Other servers do exist, Google will find some link sites for you easily enough. You should be aware that many of these are intended for ... ahem ... adult entertainment.
Netmeeting does insist on supplying an email address, but it doesn't have to be real.
I just use it on direct IP calls now.
I think I know just enough to know how much I don't know... I think...

1 very easy way is to use Messenger.
if you all have messenger installed you can just click on a person's name and click on start netmeeting and bingo! everything works. other than that the only real sure way is by using IP addresses. You cn also use the services offered on DynDNS.org to assign a DNS entry to your Dynamic IP . This will allow you to type in whatever name you chose at Dyndns.org and it will route it to your dynamic IP. i'm just not sure if it works with AOL.
