    Resolved [RESOLVED] One computer on network can't see outside world

    The setup: backbone -> hub -> PIX firewall -> 800 series router -> on-ramp -> modem.

    I have a computer on a network that can see other computers but not anything outside. I can't ping the firewall. If you think it's the firewall, how do I add this computer to the firewall, is it based on IP or hostname?

    Depends on the firewall setup. You do need to register the IP class with the PIX - consult the PIX manuals to do this - if you are using DHCP assign a different IP that you know works and try it - if all is good at that point - you found your problem.
